concluding the Anti-Comintern Pact on November 25, 1938, Hitler
placed further pressure on Great Britain which, in any case, was
concerned about the escalating Japanese threat to its interests in
the Far East. Hitler hoped that Britain would also reach terms with
Japan, but the British refused.
