March 20: First Deportations from Salonika arrive at Auschwitz

On February 25 and subsequent days in Saloniki, the Jews were made to assemble in a camp in the Baron Hirsch quarter, near the railroad station. By the time the transports ended on August 18, 43,850 of the 50,000 Jews in Salonika had been deported to Auschwitz. Most were murdered as soon as they reached the camp.
