The Chair was established in memory of Isaac John Najmann who believed that every generation should know and remember, which was endowed by his wife Hertha Najmann (pictured) and children. This was the first time the lecture was held in London, and coincided with the 10th anniversary of the death of John Najmann. In May members of the Phillips family from London came to tour Yad Vashem’s new exhibition, My Homeland. The exhibition was supported by the Phillips family through a gift from the Phillips and Rubens Charitable Trust. On 23 January the Yad Vashem UK Foundation launched their ‘Guardian of the Memory’ campaign in the House of Commons. In attendance were (L-R) Rabbi Barry Marcus, Jacques Weisser, David Metzler, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Hazel Blears, MP Andrew Dismore, Linda Patterson and Jeffrey Pinnick, Chairman of the Yad Vashem UK Foundation.
