LA Event
In February, two hundred people gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel in
Beverly Hills, California for the Salute Hollywood Dinner sponsored by the
American Society for Yad Vashem. The event, organized together with the
Jewish life Foundation, saluted Hollywood and the films that they have
produced about the Holocaust. Among the friends of Yad Vashem
participating were David and Fela Shapell; Barry and Marilyn Rubenstein;
Jan and Susanne Czuker and their son Ed with his wife Elissa; Jack Belz
and son Gary with his wife Shelly; Barbara Kort; Jona Goldrich; Maria
Herskovic and daughters Patricia and Suzanne; Bernie and Hanna Rubinstein;
Marilyn Ziering; Beryl Grace & jonathan Rosenberg; Lou and Trudy
Kestenbaum; Geoffrey Rolat; Sam Delug; Moshe and Helen Sassover; Jaro
Rogovin, and many others.
Honorees included director Arthur Hiller for his film The Man in the Glass
Booth; director Paul Verhoeven for his film The Black Book; violinist Miri
Ben Ari for the musin in the film Freedom Writers, and others.
Actors Valerie Harper, Lainie Kazan, Millie Perkins, Mare Winningham and
Jon Voight read excerpts from the Diary of Anne Frank and from the last
letters of Holocaust victims compiled by Yad Vashem.

Annual Tribute Dinner
The American Society for Yad Vashem held its Annual Tribute Dinner
dedicated to והגדת לבנך, And you shall tell your children (Exodus 13:8)
and gathered together one thousand supporters including members of the
diplomatic corps, dignitaries and heads of major Jewish organizations.
Held on November 18, 2007 in New York City, the dinner honored survivors
Edward and Cecile Mosberg with the Yad Vashem Remembrance Award and
Matthew Bronfman with the Yad Vashem Young Leadership Remembrance Award.
This year's Dinner Chairpeople were past honorees Dr. Miriam Adelson and
Eli Zborowski, Chairman of the American Society for Yad Vashem, and Ira
Mitzner who was the Dinner Co-Chair. H.E. Sallai Meridor Ambassador of
Israel delivered a captivating message as this year's guest speaker
encouraging those in attendance to redouble their support and commitment
to the State of Israel.
