During the course of his prolonged visit to Yad Vashem on 12 September,
Polish President Lech Kaczynski (standing, third from left) met with
Israeli high school students who have either visited Poland, or who will
do so this year. Following the meeting, an archival agreement between Yad
Vashem and the Polish Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) was signed,
detailing cooperation between the two organizations in the field of
Holocaust documentation.

Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (center) visited Yad
Vashem on 12 July and toured the new Holocaust History Museum, accompanied
by Chairman of the Directorate Avner Shalev.

Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D’Alema toured the new Museum on
31 July, accompanied by Director of the Yad Vashem Libraries Dr. Robert
Rozett.

On 11 July, members of the Pensioners Party led by Minister of
Pensioner Affairs Rafi Eitan (third from right), visited Yad Vashem in
advance of the opening of a new department in the Ministry that will
address the needs of Holocaust survivors. During the visit, Avner Shalev
Senior Artifacts Curator Haviva Peled Carmeli showed the participants
never-before-seen artifacts related to the capture of Adolf Eichmann,
given to Yad Vashem by Mossad chief Meir Dagan during a recent daylong
seminar for senior Mossad officials held at the International School for
Holocaust Studies.

Actor Jeff Goldblum visited Yad Vashem on 9 July in preparation for
his lead role in the upcoming Holocaust-related film, Adam Resurrected.
His visit included an extended tour of the Holocaust History Museum, as
well as a visit to the Visual Center, where he explored the computerized
film catalogue with Visual Center Director Liat Benhabib.
