Education Online

The Development Department of the
International School for Holocaust Studies is designing an online
educational program as an adjunct to the Central Database of
Shoah Victims’ Names. The site will enable users to “become
acquainted” with a Page of Testimony and follow the unfolding
story of a particular person, family or community by addressing
questions such as: What did he/she do for a living? What do we
know about the place he/she lived? What happened to other members
of his/her family during the war? How did he/she die and what
else do we know about that event? Users will be able to augment
the historic-biographical data contained within a Page of
Testimony through links to further available testimony, books or
photographs relating to that victim, or to the individual who
filled out the Page.
The Pages of Testimony collection may
also be utilized for educational activities, ceremonies, and
history lessons. Presently in Hebrew and English (and additional
languages in the future), the site will help educators prepare
activities, and connect them to Yad Vashem’s current database of
learning resources.
