In November 2002, the Venezuela Committee for Yad Vashem held an event in Caracas marking Kristallnacht, attended by over 400. Auschwitz survivors, Annie Reinfeld (second from left) and Trudy Spira (center), were honored with the dedication of the Yad Vashem publication The Auschwitz Album, published through the generosity of Caracas residents: Thalma and Milton Gruszka, Raquel and Henrique Margulis, Lilian and Ernesto Spira, Lya and Zoltan Gaspar, Perla and Daniel Slimak, Dora and David Yisrael, Rosa and Moric Dum, Raquel and Jacobo Szkolnik. The first volume of the annual publication Recuer da (Remember) was also released.
