Conclusion
The story of liberation, and the events that followed in the lives of Holocaust survivors, does not have a simple, happy ending. The trauma experienced by those who were subjected to the Nazi regime was so great that it remained with them, and continues to accompany them in one form or another, throughout their lives. We recommend using the ceremony in commemoration of the 60th year of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau to conclude this classroom activity. |
