What is the duration of a course?

A single course lasts twenty weeks: ten lessons, updated online every other week. ▲ Top

 

What is the workload?

For each lesson, every participant is required to read the materials provided – including the lesson and reading. Additional readings are optional for participants, according to prior knowledge. Participants are then required to complete an assignment for every lesson. These are usually two or three questions, and answers are limited to a maximum of a half page for each question. ▲ Top

 

How are the courses structured? How many lessons are there in a course?

Each course is comprised of 10 lessons. Each lesson is updated on our dedicated course website every other week – thus each course takes 20 weeks to complete. ▲ Top

 

Where do I access the material and readings?

Students are given access to a website where all materials are uploaded and available for students to read online or print. ▲ Top


Are the courses suitable for my knowledge level? What is the target audience?

While extensive in scope, the course is defined as an introductory course. Most of our students thus far have been educators in some capacity – either at a school, at a university or running Holocaust resource centers. However, several participants are individuals who simply wish to expand their knowledge in Holocaust history. ▲ Top


Can I take this course at my own pace?

This course allows participants to work at a steady pace, in their own time. Assignments may be submitted at any point during the two weeks following their issue, until the appearance of the following lesson and assignment. ▲ Top


How much does the course cost?

The course currently costs US$100 / €70 for each section. ▲ Top


Can I operate the course on a Macintosh computer?

The course is Mac compatible. ▲ Top

 

Are there scholarships or discounts?

There are currently no scholarships available, as the course is already heavily subsidized by Yad Vashem. However, return students will receive a discount for subsequent courses. ▲ Top

 

What type of certification do I receive for a course?

Participants will receive a certificate of completion from Yad Vashem. ▲ Top
