The story of how the remnants of the Holocaust
emerged from the abyss of the ghettos and the death camps to rebuild their
lives.
Liberation did not end the agony of Jews. When
the survivors returned to their native lands, they found their families
destroyed and their homes taken over. Some, as in the pogrom in Kielce,
Poland, were brutally murdered. The refugees languished in Displaced
Persons’ camps throughout Europe until many were able to immigrate – legally or
illegally - to Palestine and return to life.
The unit comprises:
- 20 black-and-white posters (35x50 cm);
- A video of survivors’ testimonies and
documentary footage of DP camps and immigration to Israel;
-

Testimonies from one of
the most famous trials of the 20th century.
In Spring 1961, the eyes
of the world were focused on Jerusalem and on the trial of Adolf Eichmann,
the notorious Nazi leader responsible for the deportation of millions of
Jews to the extermination centers. Although arrested at the end of the war,
Eichmann succeeded in fleeing to Argentina where he lived for 10 years
under an assumed identity. In 1960, the Israeli Mossad kidnapped Eichmann
and brought him to stand trial in Jerusalem. The moving accounts of
Holocaust victims who testified at the trial have been recorded for
posterity.
In 1962, Adolf Eichmann,
found guilty of crimes against the Jewish people and humanity, was
executed.
The unit comprises:
- A 45 minutes video of the first collection of testimonies from the ten-week
trial, produced in cooperation with the Israel State Archives and the
