“I am very impressed by the fact that men and women who came out of the Nazi camps are here in Israel taking part in building their land. This is something no one dreamed could happen. What is important is the future – the future that is born of that painful past that we must never forget. I love your strong, lively, alert youth – all of them looking forward to the future. I wish with all my heart, that the peace you so much need will be realized very soon.”

From the address delivered by Dr. Hautval at the ceremony recognizing her as a Righteous Among the Nations, April 1966
