Aerial Photographs of Auschwitz

The three principal camps in the Auschwitz complex, as photographed on June 26^th, 1944 by a Mosquito plane from the South African Air force’s 60 Photo Recon Squadron  (Sortie no. 60PR/522). This photograph gives a comprehensive view of the 3 camps.  We can also see IG Farben factory, the industrial area next to Camp I,  Oswiecim town and the swamps next to Birkenau, into which were thrown the ashes of those murdered in the camp.
