Baldur von Shirach was the leader of the Hitler Youth from 1933. In 1936, a law was passed requiring all children between the ages of 10 and 18 to join the youth movement of the Nazi party. Many of these young people—convinced and enchanted by Nazi ideology during the time spent in the youth movement, and absorbed the poisonous antisemitism in their educational and social activities—became operators of the “Final Solution” and murderers in their adult lives. Von Shirach  also took an active part in the expulsion of the Jews of Vienna. He was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
