PlanningBefore beginning the planning stage, we suggest you form a steering committee to help plan and implement the campaign. Familiarize yourself with the Database and then present the project to your committee members using the tools and resources provided here. Give a live demonstration on how to use the Online Database of Shoah Victims' Names. Another option is to partner with one or more Jewish organizations in your community, an assisted living/nursing home or a local Holocaust organization: check the Association of Holocaust Organizations (AHO) to see if there is a Holocaust Center, memorial or museum in your area interested in participating. Whether working with a committee, organization or on your own, evaluate the scope of your campaign and assess your resources. Consider the following: 1. Volunteers: Appointing a Coordinator to manage the campaign, liaise with Yad Vashem, and collect the Pages of Testimony your community recovers. Recruiting and training Volunteers (optional) to assist survivors and others in submitting names of victims they know of. 2. Testifiers: Survivors and others who will bear witness and submit biographical information about relatives, friends and acquaintances who were killed in the Holocaust. This may include their descendents, second and third generations. 3. Names Recovery Events 4. Commemoration and other Activities |
