The Yad Vashem Archives hold a vast collection of documents amassed by the Soviet Extraordinary State Commission (ChGK).
The following report of the ChGK from October 1944 contains a description of the mass murder of the Jews in Rokiskis:
A note, written in pencil in Yiddish, found in the clothes of a female corpse during an exhumation carried out in October 1944, at the site of the mass murder of Jews near the village of Antanase, close to the town of Obeliai, Rokiskis County, Lithuania:

My dearest, before I die I am writing a few words, we are about to die, 5,000 innocent people, they are cruelly shooting us, kisses to you all, Mira.
