Groups

Organized groups need to coordinate their visit in advance.

(An organized group is a group that has coordinated its visit through an escort/agent.)

The Reservations Center in Yad Vashem coordinates all visits of organized groups wishing to enter Yad Vashem with the exception of educational groups that will be required to book visits through the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem

 

Reservation process

All groups wishing to reserve a visit to the site must complete a Group Visit Reservations Form and send it by fax to the Reservations Center at Yad Vashem, no later than two weeks before the planned date of visit with the exception of educational groups that will be required to book visits through the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem. (see below).

Reservation of the visit is free of charge and based on available space in the Museum.

A group confirmation letter, which is used as the group’s entrance ticket to the Museum, will be sent by return within a week of processing the reservation. The group confirmation letter comprises details of the group, the date of the visit and other details, such as reservations for a personal guide, audio guide or meal in the cafeteria, if requested

The group permit letter must be brought on the day of the visit.

 

Educational Groups

The following groups are defined as 'educational groups', and will require certified guides who are staff members of the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem. These guided groups are subject to a fee.

1. Schools and other institutions for formal education (including universities and colleges)

2. Youth movements

3. Groups of teachers

4. Groups of youth/student leaders

5. Youth groups visiting Israel within an educational framework, including Birthright, groups associated with the Jewish Agency, the Israel Experience, and others

6. Soldiers and officers in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)

Cancellations

Please send notice of cancellation of your visit by E-mail or fax, together with your group confirmation letter to the Reservations Center for Groups no later than one week before the scheduled date of the visit.

 

Change of Date or Program

To change an approved visit please send a letter detailing the changes by E-mail or fax to the Reservations Center for Groups, together with your group confirmation letter, no later than two weeks before the scheduled date of the visit.

Arrival and entrance

Arrival

With the group’s arrival to Yad Vashem the guide will indicate to the bus driver to stop in the traffic circle opposite the new Visitors Center. with the exception of educational groups that will go to the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem.  The bus driver will then be requested to park in the special parking area designated for buses.

The arriving group will be ushered towards the Visitors Center in the Entrance Plaza. At the entrance to the Visitors Center, the group must show their group entrance confirmation letter  to the usher, and undergo a security check. The group will then be taken towards the entrance of the new Museum.

 

Entrance to the site

If the group has ordered audio guides, the guide should approach the information booths in the Visitors Center and present the group entrance pass to an information officer.

If the group has not ordered any kind of service apart from a visit to the Museum, the group will continue straight towards the exit of the Visitors Center.

It is recommended to leave bags on the bus, as Yad Vashem is unable to guard luggage belonging to groups.

 

Entrance to the new Museum

Entrance to the new Holocaust History Museum will begin at the specified time on the group confirmation letter.

At the entrance the group guide must give the group entrance pass to the usher from the Reservations Center, who will take the group to the entrance of the Museum.

Yad Vashem is unable to ensure immediate entrance for groups who arrive late or whose number exceeds that stated in the reservation.

Meal Reservations for Groups

The Yad Vashem cafeteria offers lunch by prior reservation for organized groups. Meal reservations may be made through the Reservations Center.
