The Canadian Society for Yad Vashem
In 1986 Abba Eban former Foreign Minister of Israel officially opened the Canadian Society for Yad Vashem. Since then they have taken the initiative to educate about the events of the Holocaust and to create a better understanding of that tragic period in history.
The Canadian Society for Yad Vashem raises funds to both support Yad Vashem in Jerusalem and by creating and running programs in Canada to educate the general public about the Holocaust.
The vision of the Canadian Society for Yad Vashem is threefold:
1. To educate future generations about the Holocaust to ensure that we never forget.
2. To have a living legacy for those who perished during the Holocaust and for those who survived.

The English Desk, Jerusalem
The English Desk at Yad Vashem's International Relations Division in Jerusalem is responsible for Yad Vashem contacts in all English speaking countries throughout the world, excluding the US. The primary responsibilities of the English Desk is in promoting the development of Yad Vashem and its activities in Jerusalem, and liaising with its friend societies around the world in order to promote Yad Vashem. Currently Yad Vashem has societies in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom.
