The International School for Holocaust Studies

Eighth International Conference on Holocaust Education, June 18-21, 2012

The objective of this conference is to present educational opportunities for expanding knowledge of the core issues of Holocaust history, literature, art, music, medicine, law, theology, and philosophy and to make them applicable in the lives of students.

Day one of the conference will be a day of concentrated, in - depth learning on the core issues of the Holocaust.

We are planning over 30 presentations on 20 different topics in the various areas of Holocaust research and scholarship by Yad Vashem and Israeli scholars.

Day two will be dedicated to the pedagogy of classroom implementation.

We intend to present 100 outstanding interdisciplinary, educational workshops that will be based on the same core issues of the first day. This will enable workshop participants to investigate the various disciplines of Holocaust study and engage in meaningful discussions on the applicability of the Holocaust to today’s issues in both the classroom and greater community.

A call for papers will be issued for this day of the conference ONLY.

Day three will target specific audiences that are at the forefront of Holocaust education throughout the world:
